to always be happy and have fun!
I am a happy, outgoing, fun-loving person. I have an amazing boyfriend Nick, who is now my travel partner :). We are both very active and adventurous people! And we smile ALOT! (and laugh just as much!) Nick is 27yrs old, and he is a PE/Health/Spanish teacher, a better car-singer than me, and he loves playing/writing music. He is a very engaging conversationalist, has a contagious positive attitude, and knows how to have fun in any situation. He breaks out in song (and dance) quite often (but it's ok, because he's good ;). I break out in spontaneous dancing quite often too (but it's not as pretty, and actually quite spastic). Since I get to write about myself, I'll just go ahead and say I'm amazing, fun and absolutely hilarious! :)... but really ;). Oh, and I like doing art projects. We both have very friendly and outgoing personalities and are respectful and appreciative of people who love life just as much as we do. If you are not entirely convinced of our crazy awesomeness and distinct fun-factor, does the fact that we are going to compete in the World Championships of Dodgeball, earn us some credibility? Because it should ;). We LOVE trying new things and meeting new people. We are a lot of fun, and definitely worth meeting. I promise :). (I know I'm biased in saying that, but trust me, I'm smart ;)
I believe in being happy, completely happy, and doing everything possible to accomplish that. I won't settle for anything less. You only live once! I want to make the most of my life. I want to be open to new people, cultures, ideas and adventures. There is so much to see, learn and enjoy, beyond the comfort of my own home. I believe that time is so much more valuable than money. I don't want to waste my life overworking. I am young and currently not tied down in life, so at this point, I think that money is best spent on experiences!..."When you look back on your life, you will regret the things you didn't do, more than the things you did do"... I don't want to have any regrets :) - Jennifer
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are planning on giving the actual surfing piece a solid shot on our trip to Europe. If and when we decide that this is an experience we can't help but relive from the hosting side, we will give that a shot as well.
This is our very first couch surfing adventure!!
Sports. Art. Music. Adventures. Learning. People. Culture. Nature. Dancing. Spontaneity. Fun :). Traveling (and spending money that we don't have).
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm going to go ahead and let Nick talk about this one, since I'm never up to date with movies and my only requirement for music is that it is either a happy, summery, sing-a-long type song, OR a make-you-want-to-dance type song with a really good beat :) -Jennifer
Im feeling a lot of pressure at this point to blow everyone away with my eclectic choice of music......But maybe it would be easier to say that Jimi Hendrix, John Legend, Chris Brown, and Citizen Cope are some regulars on my iPod this week. But I have music in my head at ALL times so there is no way that these are completely representative of my taste in music. But that is WAY easier than trying to describe my love for music. It would be long. And you would get bored.
My favorite book evereverever is the Alchemist.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A couple years ago I spent a summer in Puerto Escondido Mexico going to spanish language school and learning to surf. I met some unforgettable people and rode at least a couple waves that I had no business on with my skill level. I saw countless sunsets and finally tackled my lifelong dream of really surfing. That is my most recent traveling highlight and I look forward to many more!!!
I'm spending too much time on this profile to write out anything super long or detailed. But last summer I decided randomly that I wanted to go to Africa. So I booked the trip, and 10 days later I was on a plane to Zanzibar (my first big trip and first time traveling alone). I spent a month camping down the East coast of Africa. I met a lot of incredible people and had a lot of time to reflect on my life and learn a little bit about myself. I didn't want to leave, and I would absolutely go back in a heartbeat!... I think I caught the traveling bug in Africa :) - Jennifer
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm just going to go ahead and be honest, we are not too impressive in the kitchen (at least I'm not.) I can basically promise that I won't burn the house down, but no guarantees on how the food comes out :) I can bake!! Probably because that's a survival skill for me; I'm kind of a chocolate addict... On a serious note though, We CAN cook, we just don't know much. So we would gladly learn anything you could teach us in the kitchen! - Jennifer
If you are looking for some assistance with that 6 stringed instrument that is sitting in the corner collecting dust; I can help you. I have been playing guitar since I was 12 and would be glad to teach you anything I have picked up since then. If you have a specific song you would like to learn, my favorite game is to listen to a song and learn it by ear. It might not be perfect perfect, but it always comes pretty close. I also write and compose songs for myself and others. If you need some entertainment for the night, I would gladly pay for my stay with a few songs.
