Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was recently introduced to couchsurfing, as a couple friends and I put together a free camp for kids in Moore, OK (where terrible tornadoes had just come through), and were very lucky to stay with a great couple for the whole week (5 nights). My birthday was the second day, and when we returned from our long day, our hosts had made flan from scratch to celebrate--so touching and lovely! ...and delicious! They made us feel like family from the start and it was highlight of the trip.

Interests

I enjoy learning new skills and teaching old ones; for example, I've taught 3 people and counting how to can food, and am working on learning Portuguese. A lot of my time is spent teaching, doing research, and seeing clients; but relaxed time with friends over 'Burque's wide selection of local beer, a walk along the arroyos, or day trip to the hot springs are great ways to spend free time when it happens. Ohh, and walking down the street to people-watch and hang out in my historic neighborhood.
