CURRENT MISSION

Create a comfortable and peaceful homebase. Now have a toddler and am crazy busy setting up a slightly bigger homebase for a family! It'll be at least 2016 before I can open my space up again….

ABOUT ME

I used to travel all the time, and now, I'm enjoying my time in a little town in Alaska, building a home, a business , and a new community. For the first time ever, there are times when I'd rather stay at home and work on my projects than go on a trip.
I also have always loved living in a tourist town so that there are always new people coming through, bringing new ideas and stories into our community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not much, but I'd like to be able to host some, now that I actually have a little home of my own.
Update: now that I share my *little* home with a partner, a toddler, 4 dogs, and 2 cats, I'll have to wait til our upgrade is complete before I can share my space with anyone else!

Interests

Being outdoors - backpacking, sea kayaking, xc skiing, biking, etc. If i have to be indoors: I'm also an avid reader, mostly fiction or travel or natural history books. Often there's one of each lying around near my bed. And I love a good friendly competitive Scrabble game.
Update: It's absolutely amazing to spend a half hour in the woods with a toddler and see the world through his eyes! We are still travelling and exploring, just on a different scale these days.
