ABOUT ME

My friends would call me a 7-year old ;), unwilling to grow up and face reality. A nomad, never staying put and always on the lookout for the next travel opportunity. Coupling this with a quite serious job makes me a split personality of business-Jens and Fun-Jens. Determined and focused at work and accepting no responsibiltiy for what happens outside of work :). I might sometimes be slow to get started but once I get rolling i cannot stop. I have an addictive character, i.e. when I start doing something new I will do it with 120% intensity.

PHILOSOPHY

Making as many experiences as possible, living passionately...i am a hopeless romantic and though it might take a while until i overcome my (overly)analytical head, i will go for what inspires me with 120% intensity and spontaneity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Havent surfed around as I tend to stay at hostels and mingle with the crowds there, but wanted to share in the experience. I do show up at the local Munich CS events and enjoy the people and the vibe.

Intereses

I love sports, i love new things, i get bored (too) easily. I love meeting new people from all different sorts of backgrounds. Discussing until the early morning hours...realizing at the break of dawn that the next day will be a tough one :) - nothing spells out "you have been up for too long, than the sun rising while you are still up and about.
Next to that, I love history and politics...and can disucss for ages or just listen to someone telling me stories from their home countries.

I enjoy diving and have travelled to a few sweet spots on the globe to dive with sharks and manta rays.

Música, películas y libros

Normally, I juggle a few books in parallel and keep a mixture of non-fiction and fiction going. I love international affairs, politics and behavioral economics. As for fiction, Haruki Murakamia (read Kafka on the Shore), Milan Kundera, Morrie Schwartz come to mind...
I enjoy most types of music, but some good indie seems to be the favorie.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Seeing the Iguazu waterfalls between Argentina and Brazil was amazing. If one were to believe in paradise and asked to draw a picture of it, it would probably contain some waterfalls modeled off Iguazu.
Travelling through Lebanon and Syria in 2010 before the revolution broke out. Syria is stuning and fascinating, from crusader's castles to old roman architecture.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I would love to improve my French & Spanish, hence any opportunity to delve into that would be great. I can trade for English or German - not sure if this is a good deal for you ;)
I love exchanging travel stories and tips from around the world and having done my fair share of travelling am more than happy to pass on some stories and experiences.
Obviously, I can take you around Munich and give you a good tour, mixing history, sightseeing and some good food & drinks (which inevitably means beer in Munich:)
