PHILOSOPHY

I'm an avid believer in education - I've spent most of my adulthood chasing book recommendations, looking for artists and writers, seeking advice and forming friendships. I am obsessed with learning how others see the world and understanding what they wish to gain/learn from it. I've been studying the history of philosophy (western philosophy - primarily from 1960-1998) and I have made it the most important mission of my life to regain and remain connected with those who inhabit this very world! It may sound crazy but many people I meet don't know anything about others! I simply can't accept that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been couch-surfing with friends since the beginning of college. Since I moved into a large community house (with an awesome collection of people), I would like to give back and host those who have hosted me so many times before.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couched-surfed up and down the east and west coast of the United States and I have in Canada as well. I have stayed with students, working class folks, and even young married couples. I have liked everyone I've stayed with; with their mostly diverse and unique backgrounds, I've had a great experience staying with other college students, bankers, painters, and writers. Couch-surfing has been the most rewarding way to experience a new city while making and meeting great new friends.

Interests

I prefer to spend my time soaking up the great experiences life has to offer - pursuing any conversation, any activity, any adventure: ultimately to learn and experience the most I can during my time on this planet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ahh - I am currently reading Gravity's Rainbow and Sixty Stories. I've recently watched The Passenger, The Conformist, and Je t'aime, Je t'aime. Films are my favourite hobby.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been tutoring younger kids for a few years now - and nothing can compare to the experience of watching a child learn how to read or even learn a new word.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very into recommending people books and films - I've been actively reading and watching films and books for years now. Many people can have their entire worlds changed by a simple good book or excellent film and I love to be apart of that process.
