One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I decided in the 10 days between school quarters that I wanted to see the Redwoods for the first time, so I made a backpack harness from wood, screwed it to my motorcycle and drove a meandering 1,400-1,700 miles to Cali from Washington and back. Of course this was after leaving my third 12 hour shift at the hospital and driving the first 26 hours straight through two rainstorms along a coastline I'd never seen. Along the way I made some friends, swam with sea lions across a flooded river outlet outside of Klamath, lost my phone/GPS, hid my bike in bushes to sleep under driftwood on the beach and experienced some majorly trippy sleep deprivation hallucinations.
