About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to expect nothing and live frugally on surprise.

ABOUT ME

Personal Description

I'm just another girl, nothing special about me. I like pretty floral dresses and like to put flowers in my hair. I like poetry and i like lying in the grass in the middle of a night cloaked in silence, staring at the stars. I would never say no to a spontaneous plan or a glass of good cabernet sauvignon or to cheese. I do not care about possessions or worldly status, but do care a great deal about being genuine and connecting with people and nature. I dearly love to laugh. I am addicted to San Francisco and i love enriching and shaping my life and self with literature, music and other forms of art. I live for travel, because i live for discovering the countless shapes in which beauty reveals herself. who i am a> * welcoming * enthusiastic * nostalgic * intuitive * contemplative * curious * stubborn * introverted * open * melancholic * cheerful * truth chaser * music addict * bookworm

what i enjoy

people who make me laugh * the ultimate feeling of independence while travelling * intensively working on a musical piece, poem or story * discovering new flavours or chords * beauty * being all alone in the early morning and breathe in the beauty of God's creation * jumping through my room on this song * going out to concerts (indie, classical, electronica) * being in Ireland * being in California * those insightful and honest conversations with people accompanied with wine and a fire burning * taking time to enjoy good food

when we meet I can be a little guarded at the start. I just need a little time to get to know you. Since i'm so much interested in the history / culture of other countries, i'll drink in all the stories you can tell me =]. This will also colour my travelling schedule: visiting historical / archeological sites, beautiful nature, eating local food, etc. I'm not a partygirl, but i like to go out for a drink in a cosy pub.

PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy

love I believe love is the most important thing there is in life, the most important force in the universe. I like to call the real love 'agape' which is an old Greek word for the giving love, totally void of selfishness. It is why we live i think. To give love. In whatever way.

our earth Will soon add words.

God I believe God is love and is personal. Also is He very hard to fathom, to pinpoint, to explain in a language that fits within the borders of human understanding. I find that both a frustration and a relief. As one can know an artist by experiencing his art, i think i can learn about His character by looking around at the burst of life, of colours, of beauty, of variety all around me. Life is so so beautiful. I'd like to think of Him as my origin and destiny. My home. I don't think i have all the answers. In fact i don't think i have answers at all. But i do have questions. Loads and loads of them. And never have i experienced that God was tired of them :) Moreover, it feels as if he urges me to continue seeking and never settle in a adapted truth that fits my comfort zone.

freedom I also believe in freedom. And free, though propagated otherwise, is NOT what we are. In fact, the world seems to grow more and more alike to the one described in George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. I think media are way more brainwashing and dangerous than most people think. Governments tell lies and are often corrupt. Hidden agenda's are everywhere if we take the effort to look. It's frightening. But the thing is. We don't take the effort to look. People don't think for themselves anymore (even though they are made to believe that that's what they do when they vote). We have to wake up and see we are not free. Voting does not equal freedom. No one owns another human being, in fact we should never accept being controlled by any other person or system. That's why i feel very uneasy about having to carry my ID with me at all times. Why can't i be anonymous when i choose to? I am not owned by the government or am i...?

mutual support I believe in anarchism, society based on mutual support (active) instead of a government or so-called 'experts' to do all the thinking and working for us (passive). We are created with a widespread variety of (lazily underdeveloped perhaps) skills to be completely self-sufficient, especially in small communities where we can complement each other. We are created with originally good hearts, capable of loving one another. We are not as evil as the calvinist mindset depicts us, so let's not give in to the tendency to act according to those expectations.

simplicity I believe in the simple, unhurried life where the 'small' things are appreciated again and the suffocating and sickening talons of materialism and money and sex and looks obsession have lost their grip around the hearts of men.

the other I believe there's only one way to really get to know the other: Step aside from yourself and learn to see what the Other is looking at without carrying yourself as a burden blurring the view. Fight against your tendency to seek your own reflection in their eyes. Learn to see through their eyes and hear how some things they witness changes the rhythm of their heartbeat. Learn to feel the texture of what their fingers touch and how their mind interprets it. Learn to smell the fragrances that awaken precious memories they had long forgotten. Find everything as precious and interesting and meaningful as it is to them, because it is to them. Only then you can benefit from life's most precious gift: being altered by the beautiful Other and thus being shaped into a better person.

choices I believe everything we do is a choice. We can be held accountable for everything. I don't mean that every choice is easy. Choosing to be a good person is not a one time choice. We have to choose every day again. It is easy to love our friends, but it takes more effort to love our enemies. But it is necessary to conquer evil.

thoughts I also believe that our thoughts are very powerful throughout every area of our life. Our thoughts about ourself (or life, or others) are always either destructive or constructive and thus determine our happiness and consequently that of others. We are capable of choosing which thoughts are dominant, at all times.

And, finally:

never judge!
