About Me

Hey,
My name's Jess, I'm Australian, 24yo.
Not sure what to say in these things!
I went almost straight from school to uni, and haven't done much else since. I was very unhappy and wanted to leave my life. A few years ago I decided to really, really change the things I wanted to. I left everything, my home, my partner, my job, became vegan and moved overseas. I don't want to sit in an office or grind away at life day after day. I really want to live in it, and experience it.
I was always a bit shy and private, but I've become way more open and enthusiastic about life and willing to try anything!

I like to be outside, doing nature-y things. I also read quite a bit.
I did underground caving for a while which I absolutely LOVED but had to stop due to circumstances, but I would love to get back into that again.
I'm keen on hiking, love riding my bicycle, hanging out with friends, having a drink and throwing around a frisbee.

I've recently become interested in circus performing, I have NO skills but I have fun attempting handstands, juggling, hula hooping and acrobalance (when I have a partner!) Anyone want to be my partner? Haha

I've mainly worked as a barista or waitress, but for the past two years have been working in disability support which has shown me that you have to make the most of your life, and try everything you can. Be bold!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a bit shy but I really want to meet people from all over the world, learn new things and see things from a different perspective. I'm a very curious person and I want to see and experience everything I can :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been in the biggest cave in the world, Son Doong Cave in Vietnam. It was a hike through a jungle, and the uphill of the mountain almost killed me (I wasn't very fit at the time!) But it ignited my interest in caving and it was an amazing experience to swim and sleep inside a cave. Meeting the locals there was such an insight into and appreciation of how other people live.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a decent cook, but don't have a lot of other skills haha. I am happy to help out wherever, clean up, gardening, or hanging out having a chat and some fun. I believe in being polite, considerate and treating others with respect.
