About Me

Hi! My name is Jesse, and I am a 28 year old student of philosophy and biology. I am a big science enthusiast and want to work as a science advocate one day, likely after grad school. I enjoy food, drink, conversation, pets, card tricks, ethics and political stuff. I live with a few roommates that are my family, and we're all big table top gamers, so we play a lot of stuff from pathfinder to shadowrun to homebrew campaigns. I'm poor, but I think I have a pretty cool life. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I work as a counselor for a national summer camp for young adults that emphasized science education, and sometimes I travel around the country to help out at other camps. Also, I'm poor, and I like to meet new people. I'm an ok cook and would love to share food with strangers. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy reading young adult science books, and might someday publish a few of my own. My other favorite books include the Hitchhikers guide series, the His Dark Materials series, the Series of Unfortunate Events, American Gods, A Song of Ice and Fire, and various other sciency type books.

With movies and music, I'll watch and listen to pretty much anything, but I do love a lot of rap and alternative sounds.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Developed some really cool philosophy programming for my summer camp, including really fun educational activities for a variety of age ranges on ethics and epistemology.

Teach, Learn, Share

Need to know anything about animal speciation and evolution? I am your (figurative) guy. I can provide a lot of ethical perspectives on modern dilemmas, provide good cases for various aspects of social justice reform, convince you there is no god and that that's an ok thing, or that GMO is good for the environment and humanity.

Or I could just shut the hell up, be a good listener, and talk about fun things over a beer or two and a decent meal. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking and beer. A pretty good collection of cute animal pictures. Good competition in a number of video games.
