Volunteered for a program called City Year... This program was intense, it took a lot out of me, but also gave me a lot in return.

A government program that's goal is to help lower the drop out rate in schools by providing tutoring, student/teacher aid, and after school program designed to enrich and expand a student's learning capabilities while also providing a safe place to go after school.
