Live, explore, absorb, love
I guess you would say I am one of those "thinking" people. I love encountering new ideas, cultures, and religions and seeing how they can fit into my life. As such, I'm not a static person. I actively try to find new experiences that can help shape and develop my own personal identity. This concerns more than just meeting new ideas, but also taking part in the world, being active. I love adventure. Being outside and tasting the air of a new land invigorates my soul. Walking down a forested path, feeling a sandy beach between my toes, gazing down from the top of a mountain, staring in wonder at the billions of stars in the sky - these moments give me hope in a world filled with so many problems.
This is in a constant state of flux. However, I think that I will always continue to have a great concern for self-creationism. I think people need to evaluate themselves very critically in regards to why they have particular beliefs. Tradition is not a good enough reason for me, unless the tradition has practical applications in this day. Each person needs to CREATE - their own values, their own image - and from that people can create a truly beautiful community. As a result, our self-creation needs to take into account its compatibility with a community because humans are unfailingly social, making it nearly impossible to live without our actions affecting others. I am happy to elaborate on this or provide footnotes to particular philosophers for those who are interested :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am still new to CouchSurfing, but I hope to travel and meet amazing people along the way.
But to be more specific... I love the potential that people can actualize through their actions. There is an amazing power in each of us, especially when people join together in community. As a result, I love anything creative. Art, music, writing - I am a great appreciator.
I also love the opportunity to learn. I focus on Philosophy, Religion, and English in my studies, but my curiosity extends into many other realms such as Ecology, Physics, Archaeology, History, and Art.
Tennis, running, ultimate frisbee, and hiking are my main physical activities of interest, but I am generally open to anything that gets me outside.

Read my Personal Philosophy section for more "deep" stuff. Here is everything else:
If you are bored, you must be the most amazing person in the world.
You are never too old for Legos.
Science, Philosophy, and Religion are all incomplete and imperfect. We know very little. But that's okay :)
Chocolate chip pancakes + peanut butter + maple syrup = one amazing meal. Which leads to...
Food is an experience. Enjoy it.
