I am a high school graduate taking a much needed gap year! In this year I plan to travel to NYC and Europe. I'm very excited to meet as many new people as possible. A few things about me: I'm a mezzo soprano theatre geek with a passion for helping others and a new found thirst for adventure. I love to dance, sing and write plays, sonnets and stories. I'm a very outgoing introvert. I hope to meet up with my new friends soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am planning on traveling to NYC in September 2015. Next, in January or perhaps later, I am planning to travel to Europe. The cities I hope to travel to are London, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam. London and Paris I would be staying about a week, Berlin a few days and Amsterdam probably one night. I don't have a couch to have people stay in since I am living with my parents but I definitely would be open to help people around Portland and hopefully will be able to host people someday.
I am a very passionate person! When I love something, I LOVE something. I am an artisit through and through and enjoy theatre, singing and visual arts. I love dancing casually and love to write. I am very interested in LGBTQIA+ rights and feminism. Generally, I have a strong faith in humanity and other people.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite television show is Glee, my favorite musical artist is Taylor Swift and my favorite play is Gruesome Playground Injuries by Rajiv Joseph. My favorite movie is The Fault In Our Stars (although fun fact, I don't like the book). Speaking of which, my favorite book is probably the Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Musically, although T-Swift is my girl, I love all music. I love all art and enjoy expierencing as much art as possible, from metal to pop or historical fiction to poetry collections.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have struggled all my life with various medical issues. I have suffered from chronic pain, depression and I have an ostomy. The most amazing thing I have done is overcoming those challenges and becoming the strong woman I am today, including making the decision to take a gap year and travel. Today, while I know my challenges are far from over, I have finally began to take the steps toward becoming the independent, strong person I know I am.
Teach, Learn, Share
One of my favorite books, Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, discusses the philosophy of learning by experiencing life to the fullest. This philosophy has influenced me greatly, leading me to believe the best way to learn, teach and share is via experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I know a lot about art and Portland, as well as my experiences with medical issues. I also have two wonderful little siblings that make me great with kids.
