ABOUT ME

I am a bit of a gypsy, I love my home country - the warm heart of africa - South Africa but have been living in Brisbane Australia for 6 years. I have also lived in England and Greece and I still dont know where i call home. Wherever I lay my hat for now.
I am a very easy going person and love connecting with people. I am always fascinated by what makes us tick and hearing tales of peoples adventures in the world.
I love my job as an architect - I am always learning new things on different projects and love exploring new buildings or having a debate about design.
Most of all I just love life and people, so i look forward to meeting you and hearing your stories and thoughts!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am travelling at the moment and love meeting fellow CS'ers wherever i go.. love the community and being able to share advice and stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a newcomer to couch surfing and was lucky enough to meet an amazing couch surfer during my travels in Central America who let me join her for some couch surfing in San Salvador and I loved it..what an incredible community of people! I cant wait to surf and host in the future!

Interests

I love getting to know new people from all over the world! Travelling (of course), in my quieter moments reading in my hammock enjoying good music and my sillier moments dancing, live music, having a few drinks with old or new friends... I also love nature - from mountain hiking to swimming or(attempting) to surf in the ocean I love it all! and exploring the wonderful world of architecture is a passion too.

I love so many.. some favourite movies are Life is Beautiful, Amelie, Whale Rider, The Piano, Trainspotting, Requiem for a Dream, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, District 9, and so many more..
Favourite authors - Haruki Marakami, Salmon Rushdie, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Neil Gaiman, Tom Robbins, David Mitchel and books about human phychology fascinate me..eg The Brain that Changes Itself, The man who mistook his wife for a hat.
Favourite music - local live music wherever i find myself, but also Manu Chao, Rodrigo y Gabrielle, Vampire Weekend, Regina Spektor, Nina Simone, Gotye, the National, Paul Simone, Cake, Arcade Fire, Pixies, The Cat Empire, Cold War Kids, Goldfish (amazing south african musicians), Ismael Lo, Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen.. anything that moves me really or makes me want to move!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

cant possibly choose just one out of them all so here are some of my magic moments: swimming in the carribean under the shooting stars surrounded by phosphorecense, climbing a live volcano in leon, getting a tan shaped like a leaf on my back in the corn islands, dancing on the streets at olinda carnival in brazil, swimming with turtles in belize, getting lost in petra jordan, sleeping on the beach for a week in tel aviv, climbing lions head during full moon in cape town, breaking down in a 4x4 on the sandy beaches on fraser island, australia, dancing on the streets in south africa when we won the rugby world cup in 1994 are just a few.
