Overview
About Me
I quit my job at the beginning of this year to take a sabbatical and slow travel. I was working for an international education non-profit helping students from other countries apply to study in the U.S. For the last three years, I have been living in Brooklyn, but am originally from the Washington D.C. area. I enjoy meeting authentic people, exploring new cultures, and gaining new perspectives.
Since I don't have many references on here yet, you can read some reviews on my Airbnb profile :P

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To make new connections and friends and learn more about the local perspective of places I travel to. The most meaningful part of travel is the people you meet...so why not live with them? ;)
I hope to host others when I have my own place :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Over 15 years I've lived in 13 different places with 40+ roommates. Maybe that's more interesting than amazing? I've also visited a minefield in Vietnam while working for a mine action non-profit.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be happy to share with you about the places I have travelled to and provide you with all the best recommendations (IMHO) :) I'm an expert on NYC in particular (I made it my part-time job to explore the city).
I also have a lot of written resources to share about finding the best flights, accommodations, unique opportunities etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, drinks, company, thoughtful conversation, yoga practice, pickleball (I travel with paddles).
If we get along well, hopefully we can meet up on future travels.
