I'm a fairly laid back sort of chap. Happiest when I'm just pottering around really.
My ideal days are those that involve getting out somewhere on my bike - preferably somewhere new - and ending up in a nice country pub with a hearty dinner and a pint of ale.
I love to be out in nature and and off on adventures, exploring new places. I'm not even bothered where I go - I think there is as much breathtaking wonder to be found out in an English bluebell wood as there is hiking some mountain trail on the other side of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined ages ago but never really set up my profile. Now I'm heading off to cycle to Sweden over the summer and thought I might try and take advantage. I'll be travelling alone for a lot of the trip so it seems like a great way to meet some locals along the way and hopefully spend a few nights somewhere other than my tent.
When I get back I should finally be in a position to return the favour as well (spare room, coming up!)
I'm into all kinds of stuff. I generally try to be interested in everything but I don't really have 'a thing' that my special interest. I love cycling and being out in nature, I play guitar a little bit, I'm trying to learn to sketch.
I like cooking but don't do much these days and I love eating good food. I enjoy a beer or a nice whisky but I'm not really a big drinker.
Music, movies, art, poetry. I even break out the PS4 and do some gaming sometimes.
I'm really interested in science and maths. I don't particularly understand either but they fascinate me as subjects and I love listening to those who do understand them discuss them.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music - rock, jazz, funk, punk, folk. To name just a few - David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Stitt, Max Raptor, Gallows, The Tallest Man On Earth, Leonard Cohen, Faith No More, RNCP (old stuff)
I'm the same with movies. I'll watch anything and usually enjoy it to a certain level. There is just something exciting about sitting down in the dim light to watch a film. I will admit though that I do have a preference for silly fantasy and Sci-Fi - Serenity, Withnail & I, Shawshank Redemption, Blade Runner, Ravenous, Fight Club, Star Wars (the original trilogy and now I loved Rogue One as well!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't have any of those "This one time I..." type stories. Never swum with dolphins or camped under the northern lights but I once cycled down a road in Scotland, miles of cruising under gravity without peddling, rocky hills and waterfalls to either side, the gorse blossom so thick you could smell it on the breeze.
There have been hundreds of those moments. Not much in the way of stories I'll admit but at the time each one was glorious beyond words. Perhaps I am easily amazed :)
I suppose I could also say that I doing my amazing thing now. This summer I've cycled over 1000 miles from my home, crossed countries, slept in forests and met groovy strangers. Some glimpses of this can be seen on my Instagram @jethrojessop and YouTube... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgx5CXOg9fc9oX4NlslMkig
