COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

I love walking down to Yes Bookstore and getting lost in the stacks. If it's not freezing out, I like to ride my bike around the Eastern Prom, a great way to remind myself of what a beautiful a place I live. Playing rummy 500 or Scrabble with my boyfriend after a good meal is a perfect evening. Some nights I drop in at Blue, the neighborhood jazz bar, to hear live music. I spend as much time as possible in my studio coming up with ideas for new windows. I love dancing, yoga, biking, being outdoors, anything that gets me moving and keeps me strong.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tom Waits is my all time favorite living artist.

There's so much music I love, especially in the blues roots/alt-country/folk vein.
I like quirky films with good stories and actors who look like normal people. Some of my black and white favorites are Roman Polanski's "Knife in the Water"; Antonioni's "L'avventura"; Peter Bogdonavic's "The Last Picture Show". Anything by Werner Herzog. I probably spend more time watching cool old movies, I hardly have time to keep up with contemporary ones. "Junebug" was one of the last movies I saw.

I'm almost always in the mood for jazz and I usually start my morning with classical. Halleluiah for Itunes. I'm always streaming new music.
I read the New Yorker and Harper's. I love books about the natural world, Diane Ackerman, Wendell Berry, Barry Lopez, Micheal Pollan are a few favorite writers in this genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To be 44, in good health, with a loving partner, and working hard at my own business is a pretty amazing thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have my own business creating stained glass windows. My boyfriend is a baker and studies aikido and iado.
