ABOUT ME

In general, I'll try anything at least once. Meeting new people, a new type of music, a clothing style, hair style, way of traveling, classes in school, a job, a language. I like being open to new ideas and new things, and even if I act scared or naysay to begin with - I'd probably still do it... I said I would never swim with sharks and I was too afraid, but it happened and I did it and I'm still here - all limbs and appendages intact!

PHILOSOPHY

One of my favorite things about life is that it is different for each and every person. All of our perceptions are different, all experience is unique, no one has the same synapses.

I've resolved to go with the flow, once something has happened it is difficult to change it, all you can do is make the best with what has happened and work to improve it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Presently I'm looking for some couches to surf this summer as I travel in Canada and Australia. Perhaps, one day, when I have my own couch that actually belongs to me, I will share it with all of you and get to know you and pay you back for helping me in my travels!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not had any personal experiences, but several of my friends have hosted some CouchSurfer's and said it's been a great experience!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll listen to, watch or read anything at least once.

My personal preferences lie in drum & bass & dubstep, rock, alternative, hip hop, pop, broadway musicals, classical, etc. pretty much anything when it comes to music. Though, I do especially like music I can sing along to or dance to.

Movies, again, I like pretty much anything. A-, B- list movies (or worse). Actions, drama, zombie, musical, thriller, scary. Known actors or not. Childrens movie, foreign films, animated or live action. My favorite movies of all time, top 5, are 1. The Grinch (Live Action), 2. Spanglish, 3. It's Kind Of A Funny Story, 4. Away We Go and 5. the Fantastic Mr. Fox.

And again with books, I'll read anything once. I'm currently working on two, one for school, one just because. For school, I'm reading an ethnography on Dia de los Muertos in Oaxaca, and for "just because", I'm reading Battle Royale. Both are incredibly interesting. My favorite 5 books are This Is For You - Rob Ryan, Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte, Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen, Outlander Series - Diana Gabaldon, and My Booky Wook - Russell Brand.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I could teach you how to make the perfect chocolate chip cookie, or how to crochet a blanket, or how to tap dance, or how to speak bits of Greek, Italian, French, Swedish or Spanish (as I'm only starting my degree in Spanish, any practical learning tips any of you might have: I'm all ears. Literally.) or I could teach you one of the card games I made up when I traveled Europe last summer (wonderfully silly time killers).
