About Me

*** Please read my whole profile before making contact and make sure your own profile is more complete than incomplete ^_^
I also request that CSers DO NOT send me their personal details (e.g. Facebook, mobile no., email address...) unless a meet-up/visit has been finalised - this is for your safety!***

CURRENT MISSION
Spend a year in Australia.

PHILOSOPHY
1. Life is what you make it. (I know it's cliché but it's true!)
2. Only do things that you enjoy and that make you happy.
3. Carpe diem.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been a member of CS for a while and I usually use it as a travelling tool.
I initially joined to try and find a place to stay in Nantes, France (back in 2008), but my search was unsuccessful. After being inactive for a while I am now back ready to make friends, take advantage of other couches and maybe provide one for others in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
During my stay in the USA, CouchSurfing has been key to enabling me to meet new people and explore new places. The people I've met so far have all been helpful, friendly and in a lot of instances happy to show me around their towns and cities. Although my experiences are still quite limited, I already feel indebted to the CouchSurfing community for the wonderful array of people it has helped me find during my travels ^_^

Interests

- As I studied music at uni, this is also one of my main interests. I love music, most types anyway, but more specifically classical, punk, rock, ska and emo.
- I love modern art, especially the works of Kandinsky and Miró.
- I love MAPS! I find them fascinating!
- I love dancing! In my 2nd year of uni I took salsa classes (which was the most fun I'd ever had), had a quick go at samba in my final year, but now I have reverted back to salsa. I'm also a fan of the odd Ceilidh every now and then.
- I love to cook and bake too and I don't wanna brag but.. I'm pretty darn good!
- I love french poetry however I seldom find the time to appreciate it nowadays.
- I love Bikram/hot yoga!

Music, Movies, and Books

For Music. see "interests".

Movies, I don't watch all that often. I tend to like controversial movies, movies that make you think and surprisingly enough, movies about serial killers.. but don't worry, I'm a wuss when it comes to blood, so I won't kill you, promise ^.^

As for books, I'm not really a big reader so no favourite author. When I do read it's usually something along the lines of self-help/self-improvement. Favourite reads include Less Than Zero, Lunar Park (both by Brett Easton Ellis) and A Spot of Bother (by Mark Haddon).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't like having to narrow this down to ONE amazing thing but right now I'd say moving to Asia by myself before I'd even been there.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: If you speak English, I can teach you French! Si vous parlez le Français, je peux vous apprendre l'Anglais! I can teach the basics of playing the piano.. I could teach you some basic music theory (if you're REALLY interested...) I can teach you to knit (again, only the basics) and I can teach cross-stitch too.

Learn: I want to learn Spanish at some point. I'm up for learning most kinds of dances. I'm up for learning arts & crafts. I LOVE gaining new skills, so teach me ANYTHING!

Share: I can share a good meal with you. I can share my stories with you. I can be a good listener at times, so you can share your stories with me. When I have one, I'll share my couch with you ^_^
