ABOUT ME

I'll be twenty years old soon. My greatest desire is to travel. I'm young and I've never been very far from home, so I'm afraid. I respect that feeling as part of the experience of life, but I can't let it hold me back. I'm ready to move on.

I enjoy the simple things in life. I like to run barefoot in the grass and look up at the sky. I'm incapable of doing both at the same time though.

I enjoy open and honest relationships with other people. I'm naturally an introvert and tend to be quiet when first meeting people, but I open up quickly around friendly and welcoming people and then I can become quite talkative. I greatly value my friends and I consider myself to be a good friend.

I love to laugh! I have a somewhat odd and occasionally dark/sarcastic sense of humor, but I'm not actually a terrible person. I promise. ;]

I'm open-minded, honest, peaceful, and empathetic.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I love most all music, but my favorites are classic rock, reggae, and folk/acoustic.

Movies - I love a good scary movie and I will usually love a bad one too. My favorites almost always involve either demon children, unidentifiable mutated diseases, aliens, and/or the apocalypse. I also like most stupid stoner comedies and the occasional musical or animated film. I love documentaries; I don't get to watch nearly enough of them.

Books - I read a lot of non-fiction about spirituality, nutrition, sustainability, and other random topics that catch my interests. I don't read nearly as much fiction as I used to. I still love young adult fiction and probably always will. Huge Harry Potter nerd here!

I'm more than open to suggestions in the above categories. :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been on some beautiful hikes in the Blue Ridge Foothills and seem some amazing views, but that's about it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn about: playing guitar or ukulele, singing, writing music or poetry, drawing, painting, jewelry making, photography, really art of any medium. I feel like there's an artist inside of me trying to escape, but I don't know how to channel that creative energy into anything concrete.

I'd also love to learn anything about science, philosophy, spirituality, history, quantum physics, sustainable living, natural building, organic gardening, soap and candle making, sewing, knitting, home brewing, and more.

I'm not sure what I might be able to teach that isn't common knowledge, unfortunately. I know how to hula hoop, but I don't know any tricks. If you hoop, we could definitely have some fun hooping together.

I love to learn so I'll be more than happy to learn any new things with you.
