Planning a short trip to Stockholm

ABOUT ME

Well, I would rather say, i'm quite a simple person. I enjoy simple things like silence, music, reading or just being in a good company. I'm currently realizing the huge problem of global warming and its causes, and i'm trying to find a way of getting more involved, from my position of engineer. I don't like the people or the groups who are boosting war in Colombia (FARC, Uribe, Paras, or just anyone buying colombian drugs) or somewhere else in the world (you know who i'm talking about ;)) Coincidentially these are the same people who are allowing the destruction of colombian forests and/or boosting the global warming by protecting the interest of few powerful people.

On a less political side, i would say, i like riding my bike or just walking through the forest. I love second hand book markets, classical music concerts (specially the cheap or free ones). Here in Europe i have found the pleasure of knowing new cultures, new people, talking other languages, knowing new places and trying new things.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'm just starting to know this kind of peer to peer networks, and i would find really nice if i could help somewhere by providing accomodation. I have expirienced as traveler how expensive it can be, and i find that in many ways it can help me know new people, new cultures and different ways of thinking. I would find also very good if i could use this network as traveller in the future.

Interests

The music plays a very important rolle in my life. I'm always looking for new interesting things. Dancing tropical rythms is becomming more and more a hobby in my life, as a way of keep in touch with my country and just of having fun (That doesn't mean i'm good at it ;), but i'm trying to improve). Learning other languages and literature belong also to my current list of interests.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like movies which get you to thinking (Babel, Dancer in the dark, Amelie, Dogville, Bleu, etc). But i have no problem watching a simple entertaining film to spend an evening.
I like Camus, Kafka, Garcia Marquez, Pablo Neruda and many others, just literature in general.
Music: almost everything which has been made taking art instead of marketing into account. In this moment the groups that i like the most are: Radiohead, Björk, Portishead, Morcheeba, The white stripes, U2, Satie, Orishas, Manu Chao, Bajofondo Tango Club, Aterciopelados, Interpol, etc.
While dancing i enjoy almost everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning how to play Petanque near Luxembourg gardens in Paris with 3 completly unknown people. It can be quite a simple situation for you, but that moment involved many elements which touched a couple of sensitive strings in me, made me reevaluate some ways of thinking and made me happy.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well i would say i'm willing to share my views, specially within the field of my interests. My specific engineering knowledge is also available, but i'm not sure this is the objective of this network.
