About Me

I am 27 years old, I come from Punta Arenas, a small town at the edge of the world, but moved to the capital to study.
I spent one semester in the Netherlands on 2009 doing an exchange, mostly studying International Law and Human Rights. Right now I'm preparing my final Law exam, and then I want to travel for a while. Afterwards, who knows?

I like getting together with other people in small intimate spaces, like living-rooms or small parks or things like that (I am not a big fan of huge clubs, but like to dance once in a while)...I think that way you can really get to know the other people, chat with them, know their stories.

I think that this physical world in which we live in is the only one that we have: I don't expect an afterlife or anything like that, so it's our job in here to make the most of it with the time that we have. Also, in this world the only thing really worth is other people (I have little regard for material wealth or stuff like that), so, I think this life is only about the other people with whom you relate, and because of that we have to try our hardest to make other people happier, in any way we can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So far really cool experiences. I travelled for 2 months around Europe experiencing the hospitality and openness of people was in many ways the experience of my life.
Now in Chile I've met a lot of people while hosting, people who have changed the ways in which I look at the world.

Reading, writing, music! (either playing drums or going to gigs or concerts), movies.
Another major interest is politics (I have been for years in student organizations related to education and civil empowerment).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in the plane (from Chile to Spain, a 17 hour flight) I saw a lightning storm just outside our plane, in the night. If you can imagine, the darkness all around you, the muffled (and somewhat soothing) sounds of the plane itself, and, arising from a dark sea of clouds, a bolt of lighting...sudden explosions of light erupting on the landscape. I felt scared but totally overwhelmed and awed at the beauty of the moment...I think I will never forget that.
