I am a semi-retired single female living in Elmhurst, Il, recently relocated here from Seattle, WA, in 2004,so that I could be near my grand kids. Trying to find a way now to spend part of the year in Seattle and part in Elmhurst.

Outdoor activities, hiking, biking, birdwatching, sailing, riding ferries to explore coastal locations.
Hanging out with friends, watching movies, eating out, having coffee in funky coffee/tea shops.
Browsing in used book stores for kids books or cook books.
Real estate and stock market investing.
Listening to summer concerts in the park.
Gardening although I live in a condo without a garden--just a small balcony with a few plants.
Visiting friends and their adult children who live in interesting places, i.e., California, South Carolina.
Frequenting local farmer's markets, whereever I happen to be visiting.
Cooking classes, just about anywhere.
Grandchildren-anything about them.

Movies: Enjoy comedies,(Ben Stiller) good drama, thrillers, (anything by Hitchcock) documentaries, (Who Killed the Electric Car).
Books: Mysteries, (Donna Leon, Patricia Cornwell), fiction (Michael Ondaatje), non-fiction, (Freadonomics, The Declaration of Independence: a history, The Peabody Sisters) how-to books, books on foreign policy, history and biographies
Music: Classical by large symphonic masters, blue grass (Alison Krause), rock n roll, Irish music
