Make the most of my year as a Permanent Resident in Australia.
I am French but in the past 11 years, I have spent 8 years in England. 2 years in Australia, 1 year and a half in France and I am back in Melbourne for a year. So I like to think I am multi-cultural :)
I enjoy being sociable and I am very active - Most of the time, I'd rather be out than home. I like finding people with the same sense of humour as me - or people who laugh at my stupid jokes!
When I travel, I like chatting to locals and discover their way of life, hence why I prefer to spend more time in a place rather than going through many places but not getting a feeling of it. That said, I do look like a tourist!
Make yourself happy because at the end of the day, you are the only person who is going to spend all your life with you. Follow your heart, follow opportunities in life, think of each encounter, good or bad, as a step forward and be grateful for what you have without dwelling on what you don't.
"The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes" Marcel Proust
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
- I go to CS meetings to meet awesome people around the world
- I have couchsurfed in New Zealand and heard many great stories.
- I have organised CS meetings such as Laser Tag in Melbourne (which is still going on, I'm really proud of this) and New Year's Eve in Melbourne and Sydney.
- I have just started hosting when I can and have had a great time with guests:
*June 2016: Marine and Guillaume, Andreas and Jane
-July 2016: Nigel and Steffi
- August 2016: Yasha.
I have received the best sign of gratitude on NYE when a Cser came to my NYE event and told me that thanks to me, connections have been made and that I have touched life of others even if it's in a small way. This has touched me deeply!
