About Me

Hi, I'm John. I was born in Vietnam, grew up in Alberta (Canada), and am currently living in Toronto.

I'm a college student majoring in engineering. I am also a travel writer on the side and I have my own blog.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I consider myself a budget traveler and will always opt for the cheapest option. However, that's not the reason why I'm on CS.

I'm here because I want to meet new people and expand my network of friends. There's nothing better than being able to discover a city though a local's eyes. We all have so much to learn from each other I think it'd be a shame if we didn't.

Other than traveling, cooking is one of favourite things to do. I grew up watching cooking shows on Food Network, and has loved it ever since.

I tried a few different sports growing up before sticking with volleyball for a few years. I still follow all the major tournaments and leagues. I can honestly talk about it for hours so if you love volleyball, we'll be good friends

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listen to rock, RnB, and country. I also like listening to rap music sometimes, it just depends on my mood. Some of my favorite artists and bands include The Beatles, Eagle, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, ABBA, and Luke Combs.

Books are cool, I just don't read them that much. My favorite is The Great Gatsby. I had to read it in highschool but fell in love with the story

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam (well, more like a quick dip) in freezing cold water in the Rockies. It was late October and there was snow lying around. I like to think that it's pretty cool and am very proud of it.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Viet Nam
