My mission? To become a professor of historical linguistics, and to make my wardrobe from scratch, and to bring ideas into the world that weren't there before.
I'm erudite and witty, at least in English, know four languages (though two of them are dead), and am quite creative in several different ways. I'm interested in most things and people, and people seem to find me interesting too. I'm a bit of a mystery at first.
The world is what we make of it. Do not try to find meaning; know that you are the one who creates it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm quite new at this. I haven't had any real experience with CouchSurfing, but I'm eager to have some soon.
I'm most interested in language (I study historical linguistics), but that means I'm also interested in people. I like music, historical fashion, photography and travel (perhaps that's obvious). I like to wander around and look at things while not paying particular attention to where I am. I think that's called flânerie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The sky often stops me in my tracks. A sunset or sunrise is among the most beautiful things in the world. I once rappelled down the side of a castle, I've done some whitewater rafting, I've set off fireworks on a crowded bridge in Berlin on New Year's Eve, but I'm really most interested in quieter stuff, like great conversations or the majesty of Nature.
