About Me
"Which is more important", asked Big Panda "the journey or the destination?"
"The company" said Tiny Dragon
by James Norbury
I am living in Dusseldorf on river Rhine. Not a touristy hot spot, but amicable to live there. Lots of friendly people. Never wanted to go there, now staying there for more than twenty years. I love to travel (which I mostly do in Germany for business reasons and abroad for leisure). Some of my favourite time spendings are on hiking and skiing. Please note, I am travelling quite often professionally and schedule may change. Hence, asking for hostings more than 4 weeks in advance is quite often responded with "perhaps" - thx for your understanding.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend of mine said, that those holidays he did with couchsurfing were the best ever - by far. Then, I moved in my current place and thought, I now can and should share. In addition, I always enjoy getting to know other people rather unconventionally (e.g. on a pilgrimage in hostels). So, I registered here.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
How about ... Four80East (e.g. Cinco Cinco Seis), Candy Dulfer (I know, some say she`s playing the sax somewhat "nervously"), Clueso (e.g. Achterbahn i.e. roller-coaster ;-), Monatana Sextett, Pet Shop Boys (e.g. Give Stupidity a Chance - for recent reasons...), Gregory Porter (oh, so many), Joyceln Brown (esp. Somebody else's guy) - and Canon in D, Hymn for the Weekend (div.), Battle without Honor or Humanity (from Kill Bill), Empty Rooms (from Gary Moore)
Movies:
hard to say, I am not so much into movies; maybe The Piano, Ocean´s Eleven, definitely The Big Short, Titanic, Die fabelhafte Welt der Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Definitely the Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, the Otter Trail and my bungy on river Bloukrans (both RSA), the fire salamander that entered my hand, and the dawn of today
Teach, Learn, Share
I may teach: a bit of German language and - hopefully - German humor (come on, it´s there), how to enjoy yourself in Düsseldorf down-town and around
I can learn: hopefully a lot
I can share: red and white wine and a smile
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to share thoughts, ideas, laughing, and good times
