Hi, my name is Joke (with a capital 'J' ;-) and I live in Ankeveen, NOT in Amsterdam. Ankeveen lies nearby Amsterdam; by car it takes about 20 minutes, by bike it takes about an hour and by train about 30 minutes to get there.
Ankeveen is a quiet village, surrounded by a lot of nature. If you like cycling and taking long walkes, Ankeveen is the place to be! If you rent a car or a bike, you can go anywhere you want in Holland, because Ankeveen lies very central. There is, unfortunately, no public transfer nearby. Trainstations close to Ankeveen are Bussum and Weesp, both around 20 min. of cycling distance.

I am new on couchsurving, and I signed up because I am tired of spending more time inside and in my own country! I would like to travel a lot in the years that follow. Unfortunately I don't have the financial resources to stay in hotels... But I think couchsurving is better than staying in a luxurious hotel and a travel-agentcy planned vacation, because you can get to meet a lot of locals and their habits;-)

I would say I am a pretty easy going person. I prefer to laugh and have a good conversation. I would like to learn more about the host/surver and perhaps do things together like hiking, cycling, touring. or just see a movie and play some pool...

I do have a pet: a resonable big dog... If you're afraid of dogs, that's something you should know ;-) She is very sweet, but she barks a lot in the beginning. Don't be afraid of her and just ignore her, it will be fine.

If you want to couch here, I have a spare room all for yourself. It fits two beds.

I work four days as a teacher, so you have to entertain yourself during the day by taking the train or bike to Amsterdam, go hiking in the woods or go to places like Madurodam or castle Muiderslot. In the weekends I have time to go out with you, but I must say that I don't have a moneytree planted, so a lot of expensive getaways I just can't afford...

Books: various. Phantasy books like Harry Potter, collage/ study books and psycological thrillers.
