Find a place to stay, return the favor. Meet great people along the way.
Hmm I'm usually really busy, broke, single and optimistic. Combine that with a need to travel and well here I am. I need a place to stay, great people to hang out with and show me where to get the good beer, and to see and learn about everything. I am going to have to stay on this site looking for couches until I get a couch in Antarctica or on Mars. Preferably with them picking me up at my house. Taxi fare to Mars might be a little much.
In my more boring life that pays the bills I work for a hospital scheduling heart surgeries and am slowly getting all the prereqs done for grad school. I also am in the Army as a medic which is pretty cool. Paid travel to other countries and as medical personnel I get to interact with the locals and learn their stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I made a profile and I'm going to travel, that's got to count for something.
None, working on changing that. I need surfers.
Some of the people in my Army unit crash at my house on weekends. I provide a couch, they provide beer. That my friends is symbiosis. Can I get a cookie for this?
For the purposes of here. I want to experience different cultures customs, traditions, and foods.

Music, Movies, and Books
Listing genres, anything else would take too long.
Movies pretty much anything except the horror and suspense. I don't have a problem with the gore just the random stuff popping up out of nowhere. They were running and the dude was walking after them groaning. Suddenly he pops up from behind the bush and buries a pickax in Joe's head. How the hell did he get there?
Music, Rock, metal, alternative, country, classical, trance, etc no bluegrass or rap please
Books is a really long list. I tend to read Sci-fi and fantasy with some history, anthropology, language, and how to or self help books thrown in the mix.
FYI I am unbelievably not talented with all musical instruments. I have no rhythm and I'm tone deaf. But I love to see people covering their ears. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stars in Mehtar Lam, Afghanistan. Not a light on for miles. A canopy of stars that seemed so more vibrant and numerous than here.
Climbing a waterfall in Peurto Rico.
Stopping to look at all the life in a square foot of dirt.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach emergency trauma care and how to use microsoft office, somehow I don't think that's helpful
