My wife and I hope to travel the world - the entire world, or as much of it as possible! Of course the world is so big, and our time is so short, and our funds so limited, we just won't make it, but we are going to do everything we can while we can.

Pretty much no matter where you are in the world, if you have as much as a floor that we can sleep on, we'd love to visit you. And if you want to come here, we're eager to host you.

When traveling, couch surfing lets us meet "locals;" as hosts, it gives us a similar opportunity to meet interesting travelers.

This is especially important because, traveling as a couple, it's easy to spend all our time talking to each other rather than talking to people around us. But one of the main reasons to travel is to meet other people and talk to them! We hope that couch surfing will enable us to meet friends from diverse places, and to see places from points of view that we wouldn't see by ourselves.

兴趣

I love history, music, and travel. We both love literature and nature. My idea of a very good day is several hours of reading and listening to music, a few hours of stimulating conversation, and a bit of hiking or kayaking.

I love all music. I love modern classical music and jazz the most, but I love the rest of classical music too, and blues, and folk, and world music, and rock, and hip hop, and just about everything that anyone plays.

I'm a horrible movie snob so I'd better not say much about that.

As far as reading goes, I love to read about history, and I read a lot of literature too. My wife reads even more than I do, and she reads approximately anything (except horror or crime).

We are teachers: my wife teaches English as a second language; I have taught that and I also teach reading, writing, and history.

I love history very much and I am eager to discuss it with anyone, as long as we can avoid fights. My favorite aspects of history are social history and intellectual history, but I really enjoy mixing up diverse aspects of history: for example, relating the history of art to the history of science.

I also enjoy science and politics.
