I'm starting out on a 1 to 2 year sailing adventure. Looking to meet people in countries and have fun. Take good people sailing and just enjoy new experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a romantic idealist. I like to dream big, make plans, change plans, be spontaneous, express emotion and spread love and happiness.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm brand new to CS. I have an open mind and easy-going personality. Love being exposed to new ideas and new perspectives. Escaping the have-to-get-ahead culture and disproving the ugly-American stereotype.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never surfed, but met some people who were staying with friends and they totally turned me on the experience. Those surfers were great people and I'd love to meet other great people around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Still Life With Woodpecker and Jitterbug Perfume, both by Tom Robbins, pretty well sums up my reading taste. Musical tastes run towards upbeat jam bands like O.A.R., or classical. I enjoy though, all styles done well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing my niece running towards me yelling "Uncle Jon" was pretty amazing. Rock-climbing in the Bugaboos in Canada was pretty awesome, as well as climbing in Zion National Park or Tuolumene.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: huh, I've been a life coach and mathematics teacher for high schoolers and middle-schoolers for 9 years. It was a hell-of-a run.
Learn: Teach me about how people live where-ever you are. How are our superficial differences really just alternate ways of expressing common basic needs and desires?
