I am currently taking a year off from teaching... In this year I plan to travel to Europe to catch up with friends and visit places I have been longing to get to for ages.
I am a teacher with seven years under my belt, teaching kids of all ages in Golden Bay. I specialize in Performing Arts, Music and Drama in particular.
Music is a real passion of mine... I realise that I will probably never make it as a professional musician but I am having a hell of a lot of fun playing in local bands and jamming with friends.
I thrive on adventure and spontaneity, although sometimes I am a lazy recluse.
Other interests include cooking, sailing, tramping, socialising and hosting extreme dinner parties...
Still working on my personal philosophy, but I'll let you in on a few clues... It sounds like The Beatles 'Abbey Road', smells like freshly baked bread, tastes like sauvignon blanc with subtle strawberry notes, and feels like a spa after walking uphill all day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to the online couch surfing community... I hope to use this as a means of adding some adventure and excitement to my upcoming adventure around Europe. On my return, there shall be plenty of couch space for you all!!!
Plenty of informal experience prior to joining. I have slept on plenty of couches and had plenty of friends and strangers sleeping on mine. Some are very uncomfortable, some are too short, some are smelly, some are just right. No couch is equal, but I am always grateful for the opportunity to sleep on one when away from home.
cooking, sailing, tramping, adventuring, windsurfing, swimming, music (Bass, Guitar, Drums) music (listening) sleeping, eating, reading... I find it almost impossible to leave any book unfinished! socialising, the lsit goes on!!!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am very biased toward NZ music, especially The Phoenix Foundation, Little Bushman, and plenty more. Not so keen on trance, drum'n'bass or house. Love Radiohead earlier stuff, Beatles, Frank Zappa,Nick Cave, RHCP,... really enjoy most live music that is well played and has thoughtful, positive or quirky themes.
Best movie? anything produced outside of Hollywood!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After a few pints of fine Mussel Inn beer, it all seems amazing.

The world is so big that you would have to go to the moon to see it all!!!
