About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To find beauty in the hidden corners of people and places.
ABOUT ME
If you would ask my best friends, I think they would tell you that I'm quite an all right sort of guy. I like to care for people (listening to their stories, making them some good food...) and I'm always looking forward to see and hear new things. I also have an uncanny memory for useless facts that gets boring very quickly.
PHILOSOPHY
Let me think about this.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Through a very good friend of mine, I've got to know Couchsurfing as a brilliant way to meet new people, as well as a very convenient and fun way of getting a place to stay while on a journey. I thought that Couchsurfing would be the way to go, especially when I'd like to go to places that are too interesting or too far away for a simple day trip.
I've got an apartment in Gouda together with my girlfriend, who is also an avid CSer. We live about 2 kms north of the lovely town centre in a quiet neighborhood. It's more or less one big space, but there are two floors (sort of) which provides some privacy. We have a couch that can be turned into a bed for two and we always have a spare duvet and pillows lying around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted three people while living in Liverpool, also surfed around in Manchester, Oxford and Lithuania.
Interests
Loads and loads of things... People in general, cultures, religion, traditions, rituals, British football culture, motorsports, music (classical, electronic or hiphop - doesn't really matter, as long as it's made with love), discovering new books and movies, rubbish old cars, obscure languages, any kind of old stuff, food I've never tried before, maps, islands and everything that makes me smile.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Aphex Twin (twisted genius), Boards of Canada (dreamiest music ever), Squarepusher, The Beatles, 1960s Rock & Roll, Arvo Paert, Dmitri Shostakovich, Igor Stravinsky, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig (Dutch hiphop, but with beats that transcend any language barrier), LeLe (Anglo-Franco-Germano-Dutch electro madness), etc., etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To cross a reasonably-sized country by foot, to be the first foreigner somewhere in five years and to discover French cuisine in general.
