About Me

When I was in university I remember seeing how my brother was living and thinking "this guy is nuts." He was living out of a backpack, hadn't had an apartment in a couple years, and seemed to be in a different country every other week. Needless to say he set the bar high -- he encouraged me to hit the road and I was hooked.

Since leaving Montreal I've done two big road trips through the USA, chasing music festivals and making friends. I came back to BC to explore some local mountains, then backpacked through South East Asia before moving up north to plant trees and live in a tent for months at a time. I worked in the Scottish Highlands the last two winters, swinging through Holland, Germany and Iceland along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favourite moments traveling are always when I'm making new friends. Hostels are great for meeting other travellers, but I'd like to meet more locals and get to know the areas I'm visiting from a less touristy point of view. When I was car camping in Iceland my friend and I had an awesome night out in Reykjavik when we were taken on a pub crawl by a local guy who saw us sitting in a square having a beer.

This winter I'll be working at a heli ski lodge in Revelstoke, BC, and while unfortunately I can't host anyone, I'll be in town a lot and I'm excited to meet some new people.

Interests

Photography is my main creative outlet, and it goes hand in hand with my love of the outdoors. I spend as much time as I can on top of mountains and running around in the forest. I also love camping, scuba diving, skiing, snowboarding, yoga... and generally exploring.
