ABOUT ME

Some of my friends would call me a workaholic, but I'm pretty sure that in some sense I'm pretty lazy. For most of my life I've had a sensation of drifting along; I still don't know how I feel about it. I'm a big fan of non-sequiturs and of absurd, whimsical, or wacky conversations in general. I like humor and irony quite a bit. In general I think I'm pretty open to hearing other people's points of view and opinions. I value kindness more than most other traits in people.

I get a lot of satisfaction from my studies, for the most part. I really like studying math, though I don't know very much. Fields that I'm most interested in and know a bit about are linear algebra and analysis. I like philosophy a lot too; some of my favorite authors and topics are Wittgenstein, Nietzsche, Bataille, Phenomenology, and Mereology.

But this all only attests to how much college has consumed my life for the past two years. Outside of academic pursuits, I like running and playing the double bass, and I try to read regularly. I really like just spending time with my friends as well.

1. Finishing Crime and Punishment.
2. Walking 3 miles along a highway in Upstate New York at 2 am with a couple of friends after missing our stop.
3. Finishing a mostly unbroken 13 hour drive from New York to Tennessee.
