About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living life to the fullest!

ABOUT ME

Very social, politically active, likes conversation, great coffee, arts things, urban life, creative writing, theater, Ted Talks, playing the drums, Indie films, Indie Rock, being a non-judgmental hipster, or hipster sympathizer. I am working as an attorney, but I really want to start my own business. I have much to say about that but I don't want to try to write a book right here.

PHILOSOPHY

Our world is filled with a lot of good and bad things, but because we are lucky enough to be born into a relatively free and prosperous society we can influence our affairs enough to move the results of our lives in a better direction, especially by helping other do the same. And who knows, things might turn out really great for ourselves and many others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I came to events for the Columbus Couch Crash and showed some visitors some neat stuff we have going on here, I'm looking to surf it up more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Several Indie films, Inception, any Will Ferrell-Galifinakis-Stiller-Vince Vaughn-Owen Wilson type movies. I've been reading about Startups lately, but I love Thomas Hardy novels, Brideshead Revisited, I've read a couple books by Somerset Maughm that I loved, Main Street by Sinclair Lewis, Sister Carrie and An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser, many others. Indie-Alternative-hipster type bands like Passion Pit, Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, many many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing Times Square for the first time
Seeing my young nephew say his first words

Teach, Learn, Share

A few interesting things I learned about the history of our Constitution in law school: 1. According to our Constitution, as it was originally understood, the only thing you have a guaranteed right to vote on is your member of the US House. 2. Until the 1920s, many times courts did not interpret the First Amendment to protect unpopular political speech, and until then many people were convicted of the "crimes" of expressing unpopular political views.
