Overview
About Me
Hello! I love travelling and being in contact with different cultures. Even though I've studied Business Administration, I'm a people person. I enjoy learning new languages so as to communicate better and get a more profound knowledge of the culture and the person in front of me.
During the polo season, I take tourists to see and live polo matches while I explain them the rules and history of this amazing game. I love this activity as it combines two of my passions: practice foreign languages and making foreigners feel at ease while they are far from home. Surely you've noticed I love languages.
I'm not married and have no children but lots of nephews to whom I'm "cool Auntie Georgie"! As a descendant of Irish and Italian immigrants (powerful combination, don't you think?) I enjoy spending time with the family.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Don’t you think that an essential part of a trip is to meet other people and idiosyncrasies different to one’s own? With Couchsurfing the benefit is mutual. Travelling ignoring the hotel and stopping at local family's houses ensures a knowledge of the place you visit that cannot be found in any travel guide.
It's a win-win situation for everybody!!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I enjoy classical music and modern one, specially U2, INXS, The Corrs, amogst many others.
Books: Jane Austen (my favourite one: Pride and Prejudice), various other themes (at the moment I'm reading books on stylism, theory of colour). Once a week I attend a literary group where we read short stories in English and discuss them. This way I get to know writers I wouldn't have been interested otherwise.
Movies: all genres in general. I enjoyed "Shakespeare in love".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’m a volunteer in UN TECHO PARA MI PAIS (a roof for my country). TECHO is a youth led non-profit organization present in Latin America & the Caribbean. Through the collaborative work of families living in extreme poverty with youth volunteers, TECHO seeks to overcome poverty in slums (www.techo.org). Building a basic, respectable house for needy families is a way of appreciating how lucky I am. I get back – without seeking anything in return – the most priceless thing in the world: A SMILE AND A GLIMPSE OF HOPE ON THEIR FACES.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m a humorous person who enjoys a good life. I’m collaborative and cooperative. Surely this will be a rich cultural exchange.
