Wants to Meet Up

Very long story short, I studied in Europe and tried getting closer to North America by establishing myself in Mexico. This was the best and worst decision of my life. I have learnt so much from the experience, but not long after my arrival, I was sought after by the organized crime to work for them.
After "working" for them for a few years, I have managed escaping which has lead me to reach Canada. Not long after, the people having smuggled me in the country have left me with the bare minimum belongings and have become homeless. The cold... OMG... This is when survival instincts developed in a blink of an eye. After a few weeks of homelessness surviving by sleeping anywhere I could and showering in public pools, I decided to go volunteer at a shelter. I met some of the most incredible people there. Not only I have learned the ins and outs of living in the streets, I managed becoming an asset in the kitchen, which at least guaranteed me access to food. After a few weeks there, I even was on TV (background serving food).
As much as I am grateful for still being alive and living "comfortably," I am willing to walk across the border where I know that there are more opportunities for me. I have been left with no ID no phone, so my homeless friends have taught me how to get access to public computers. I kinda like the struggle I am in and want to see how I can get out of it and make this an adventure that I will tell my kids.
If you look at me, you don't see a person who's broken by his misfortune, but someone who smiles to what's next. I have learnt so much about myself and life. I am forever grateful for these experiences because I know that I will be able to apply all of it when I'll be back on track.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My friends at the shelter suggested me this. They have been living nomadic lives and have stayed in people's homes when the weather was bad. Apparently, it happens quite often in Canada during winter haha!
I wish I could say that my priority would be to have fun, share and party. I love having a great time, but right now would be more as a pit-stop towards my last destination, which is still unknown. If you are willing to help me out in whichever way you can, I will be absolutely more than grateful and will try to repay you one way or another. This encounter won't be wasted.

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, I do not have a favorite genre. It comes to curating the playlist to the circumstances. I used to play clarinet and classical guitar. In a more contemporary fashion, I can DJ and I am certain that I can find something to your taste.
When it comes to movies, I would say that I love to be left on the edge of the sofa. However, I have to admit that I still do appreciate some 12 IQ comedies from time to time.
I love reading political, historical and biographies. I was traveling with 3 books, but I have read them 2 times each, so I got rid of them. I have been reading a lot in the public libraries as well. Such a shame that I couldn't get a library card!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Surviving this long? Is this good enough?
