I am a New York transplant living in South Florida in the southern part of Miami-Dade. I work in Doral, which is very busy and continually growing, and is approximately 25-60 minutes from my home, depending on traffic. I live with my family, although, all of us are single or widowed.... We are close to the Redlands, which has a lot of private farms and exotic stores of interest, like the bonsai tree farm. Also, very near to the Everglades and a National Park near the coast of Homestead. Of course, Key Largo is only 45 minutes or less south of us and Key West is 3 to 4 hours up the road. Reachable to famous South Beach on Miami beach about 35-40 miles. I enjoy animals, nature and usually people too. Hobbies include yoga, Tai Chi, films and acting and comedy. Love ciuntry music and folk and rock. Good sense of humor.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel like I need to update my profile, as I originally created it when I lived in New Hyde Park on Long Island, New York. I think it would be nice to host a traveler who is trustworthy and honest, but as I have never done so, I am a bit hesitant. Currently, I have no immediate plans to travel, although I would love to see the country.

Some of my interests include going to comedy clubs, seeing films, and also movies... I also paint and will check out a museum on occasion.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Basia Bulat and other mellow artists and singer-songwriters. Love to go see concerts when I can get away, and have recently gone to see The Rolling Stones, The Who, Elvis Costello (couple of years ago), and Fleetwood Mac! Let's say, its been a busy and great year in concert-going for Classic Rock fans. By the way, they were all great shows.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked across Europe and into the Iron Curtain when there was an Iron Curtain for 6 months when I was in my twenties.
