About Me

Learning how to live well.

I was born in France and grew up in Chicago. I'm currently studying agriculture and live with my girlfriend in a small town in the middle of corn fields.

I'm earnest and curious. I like having fun, but I'm still learning how! I listen intently, but speak hesitantly. I have a red bicycle.

"For I am—or I was—one of those people who pride themselves on their willpower, on their ability to make a decision and carry it through. This virtue, like most virtues, is ambiguity itself. People who believe that they are strong-willed and the masters of their destiny can only continue to believe this by becoming specialists in self-deception...a real decision makes one humble, one knows that it is at the mercy of more things than can be named..." -James Baldwin

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I couch-surfed while traveling around France this summer. I've had both good experiences (to be used as examples in hosting) and complete nightmares (what not to do!).

Reading & writing, coffee, girls, learning languages, farming, punctuation, cooking & eating, riding bikes, plants, alternative medicine, meeting new people, quality of life, beer & whiskey, international development, spelling games, baby animals...
