About Me

I'm an American guy who has really no experience with the world outside of the US. I don't really have a direction but I do know I want to join the military after I graduate college. The military will challenge me and hopefully give me more chances to explore the world before my youth is gone. But, before I enlist I want to experience some new places while I still have my freedom.

I come from a large family. I have my Dad and Mom and my 5 brothers and sisters. My dad is in the military so we have moved a lot but hopefully we don't have to anymore. We are Roman Catholic and I love my faith. However, I am very open to the lifestyles of other people even though I may disagree. I refuse to judge people by their personal decisions because it's not my place. I am currently single but as long as I actively am bettering myself I am sure I will find someone to share myself with.

I would describe myself as an extrovert with a splash of introvert. I won't shy away from conversation, but large crowds of people kind of make me anxious. But, if I have alcohol in me I am anything the people want me to be :)

I really just want to meet new people from this site and throughout my travels. I want to discuss world events from a new perspective. I want to know how the rest of the world lives. And I genuinely would just like to gain knowledge and wisdom from the world before I turn all wrinkly and sad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I came to Couchsurfing as a way to meet new people and their cultures and also share my culture with the world. As an American that has never left the United States I have little real understanding of the world around me. I hope that by joining the Couchsurfing community I can experience the world up close and personal.

Interests

I love the outdoors and I prefer to camp it in the rough, survival-style. I like hiking, canoeing, biking, even running when I have no other modes of transportation! I love to eat because I can do it so well.To work it off I play paintball and enjoy other sports as well, although I may not be very good. I am very, very interested in motorcycles. I have never driven one, but I currently have an inoperable motorcycle that I am working on. Once it works, I plan to ride it till my riding skills are honed I will then move on to bigger and better bikes. I enjoy occasional cigars, whiskey-on-the-rocks, and good company. Intelligent discussion over a chess game is excellent. However, I also like to party hard sometimes but who doesn't? Just ask to play beer pong and we'll have a party going in no time :D.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have a favorite movie because they are all equally wonderful in their own way. But, if I were to choose one I really enjoy it would probably be Kingdom of Heaven, because it's just so epic! My favorite book is Timeline by Michael Crichton because time travel is awesome, especially when it's in medieval times. My taste of music I really have no preferences I am kind of open to everything. I listen to Alternative, Metal, Classic Rock, Bagpipe Music, Kenny G, and really everything in between. Every night I listen to Classical music to lull me to sleep and I always listen to Flight of the Valkyries whenever I am riding in the car with my friends :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I attended the largest paintball event in the world at Oklahoma D-Day. It was a week-long paintball extravaganza and I loved the whole event. The big game was especially spectacular because when 4000 paintball players simultaneously are firing paintballs at each other it's difficult to not get goosebumps and an intense rush of adrenaline.
