About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel around the world before starting med school in New Zealand

ABOUT ME

Well I have just finished school in London. I am 18 years old and about to embark on a few months of traveling before I settle down in New Zealand.

Me and 3 friends are going to Morocco followed by Greece and Latin America then finally a visit to Australia and New Zealand around both islands.

I'd describe myself as jovial, always looking to discover new cultural experiences wherever they may be. I really enjoy traveling and meeting new people - and trying to overcome any language barriers as friendliness is universal.

I have a lot of great stories to tell and I am eager to learn other languages. I already have a decent understanding of French and Spanish but I would particularly like to learn more about Arabic and Asian culture. I want to further my understanding of hispanic culture also

PHILOSOPHY

I am a Christian, I suppose a Catholic, however I don't like to define myself by my religion. I believe that if you do good things, good things will happen to you - not because of some metaphysical force ensuring fairness but if people are innately good then it may influence others to help others in turn.

I believe life is short and it is what you make of it that counts - That you should do your best to be successful so you can make a difference, however big or small, in the world - and have some fun along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently unable to host anyone as I am in the transitional period of moving from England to New Zealand but I would like to set myself up as a host as soon as I have sorted out accommodation in New Zealand.

As I find that the best way to learn about other cultures is actually through the residents of said country, I would love to stay on peoples' couches - for whoever will have me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a complete newbie to Couch surfing but have heard so many great things and me and my friends look forward to the upcoming experiences

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of many different genres of music but I'm particularly into club music at the moment like trance and electro.

I'm a real movie buff but if I had to say my three favourite films ever I would have to say Scarface, Rocky 3 and The Departed.

I love to read and have recently decided to read Darwin's origin of species and Freud's Interpretation of Dreams.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most amazing experience was working in a Cambodian orphanage for two weeks last year. Despite the languages being utterly different it was not a problem and it really opened my eyes that kids will be kids regardless of their social status or ethnic origin; that it isn't wealth that brings happiness and that everyone around the world loves to play soccer!

Teach, Learn, Share

I cannot say everything I know but I will always do my best to pass on any knowledge or experiences I have in the hope of it being invaluable for others.
