About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring

ABOUT ME

I want to see all that I can, and follow my nose, and let my guard down, and take chances, and step out of my comfort zone, and scrap the plan, and jump off of rope swings, and eat picnics on the top of mountains, and fiddle in a bluegrass band, and get good at pool, and get good at whistling, and get a dog, and become a better cook, and rekindle old acquaintances, and go on snowshoeing trips with my mom, and actually pay attention to the sunset, and see more of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Meeting challenges head on, learning from others, being open to new ways of thinking, noticing the beauty in small things, exploring new cities and wilderness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love being outside and exploring new places. I'm a sister and a student and I love playing the fiddle, hiking, art, music, and spending time with friends and family!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never have before. Excited to give it a try!

Interests

I am driving across the country with my friend Gaby and my brother Dante this summer. We want to explore the beautiful outdoors, get to know new cities, experience local music scenes, and meet exciting people. I am an aspiring fiddle player and I will be bringing it with me across the USA. We are also working on a small side film project as we go.

Music, Movies, and Books

Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury. Ahab's Wife by Sena Jeter Naslind. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Dharma Bums Jack Kerouak. The Stranger by Albert Camus. The Help Kathryn Stockett. I have also been really into short magical realism stories by Julio Cortarzar and Gabriel Garcia Marquez such as "Axolotl" and "Un Señor muy viejo con alas enormes." As for music, since that is so hard I'll just say recently, I am loving all things fiddle, like Dave Rawlings Band, Punch Brothers, Gillian Welch, Andrew Bird (especially Danse Caribe which I am learning how to play today.) Also Alt-J, Alabama Shakes, Jack White, Dr. Dog, Portugal. the man, Delicate Steve, Caravan Palace, and I've been listening to a lot of stuff from the sixties and seventies specifically Crosby, Stills & Nash. also have some St. Vincent, Rubblebucket, Major Lazer, Grimes stuck in my head. All over the place with music.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm fairly fluent in Spanish so I'd love to practice with anyone who is trying to learn! Fiddle or classical violin lessons or just playing together! I'm also really into art journaling and have some ideas and techniques to share.
