To see the world and learn my place in it
I was a boy abandoned by his parents in the jungles of darkest Africa, raised by a wily panther and a care-free bear, I learnt how to be a man by... oh, wait... that's someone else.
I found myself in a magical land where no one has to grow old, but fell in love with a beautiful mortal girl and we adventured with pirates and faeries and lost boys... oh wait, that's wrong too.
I love stories and have the rather pathetic defect of thinking I'm (and everyone around me) is part of one. When I sit in bus or train stations or when I'm driving across country in my car, I'll see a person that strikes me and just start making up their story. Above, I used "The Jungle Book" and "Peter Pan" because, I figured, you'd know them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't yet, actually.
Nope. Nada. Zip. Zero.
Yes! I try to be interested in everything. Right now, it's revolutions from the American to the Second Paris Commune and the computer automation that's coming in the next 20 years.
Music, Movies, and Books
I especially love French foreign films (any of them, I just like hearing and trying to piece together the French), Blues and Irish Trad, and Adventure Novels (think Robertson Crusoe or Le Comte de Monte Cristo).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed to the top of Masada in Israel for the sunrise.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can do a rubix cube, cook a damn tasty meal (and prepare the best guacamole you've ever had), and am damn good at massage, although that seems like a fairly intimate skill, so I probably won't pass that on. And I can introduce you to a whole heap of literature, both sacred and profane.
I'd like to learn wood-working or the basics of any instrument. I'd love to learn the basics of any language too. And I'd love to be introduced to just about any writer/musician/dancer who holds special sway over your heart.
