Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My past travels have been through school studying abroad programs which have introduced me to many wonderful and interesting people that I've learned from. Now that I'm traveling alone I think Couchsurfing allows for the same connections in a different and fun way!

Interests

Making and watching movies, listening to music of all kinds, swimming in waves and occasionally surfing - badly - at the beach nearby, reading good books, kayaking, hiking, walking my dog, coffee & tea (worked at a coffee shop for a bit and loved it), watercoloring, doodling, going to farmers markets, traveling, learning languages and about different cultures, baking and cooking, I love food and trying new things!

Music, Movies, and Books

Most types of music, from instrumental movie soundtracks (Alexandre Desplat is a favorite!) Bowie, Billy Joel, Alt-J, Hot Chip, Disclosure, Bob Dylan, Fleetfoxes, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Childish Gambino, Lana Del Rey, Norah Jones, Lili Ster, Kråkesølv, the list is incomplete and endless.

As for books I have no one genre either. Loved The Girl on the Train, Z (about Zelda Fitzgerald), Why Not Me?, the Harry Potter series, the graphic novel Blankets, the Elegance of the Hedgehog, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights I also love poetry.

Too many great movies to list! My favorite directors are Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino, among their movies I love Fantastic Mr. Fox, Kill Bill, Inglourious Basterds, Django, and Darjeeling Unlimited, and the rest... Also among my favorite films are Amelie, the Dark Knight Batman series, Star Wars, Born Into Brothels, Lord of the Rings, A Room with a View, Whiplash, The Triplets of Belleville, It Happened One Night, Gone Girl, About Time, 180 Degrees South, Like Water for Chocolate, and so many more. And I haven't even seen half of what I want to!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking to the Boiling Lake in the Caribbean island Dominica through the rain wild wind gusts along a thin, muddy, steep trail. It was simultaneously one of the most difficult and fun experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook or bake something for or with you if you want! Maybe we can make a short film together or you can be a part of the stock footage I'm trying to constantly collect for future projects. Or if you're interested in film editing or need some help with your own project I can try and help with that too!
