ABOUT US

I am Julia, a 31 years old happy French girl who lived 5 years in England (London and Brighton) before coming to Brazil 8 months ago. I have been teaching French and English in Sao Paulo whilst learning Portuguese. I have travelled through Brasil and have volunteered as a WWOOFer (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) which i loved. Recently my partner and I have joined Workaway, another way of volunteering whilst travelling.

I am Ben, Julia's partner. I am English, 39 and live in the UK. I will be joining Julia in Feb 2015 to visit South America and look forward to diving in a few of the best dive spots in the world. As Dive Master I have worked in Marine Conservation and I am passionate about sharks.

Our friends would describe us as adventurous, open-minded, positive and trustful people. Julia likes not to take life too seriously and enjoy every moment by trying new things, i love to focus on conservation and living a rural lifestyle.

PHILOSOPHY
Life is a trip which should never stop! Spend time in a useful way, always learning and/or experiencing something new.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why we are on Couchsurfing:

Both Ben and i have decided that our travel plans should incorporate sharing experiences, meeting new people and 'giving back' to others. That is why we have joined Couchsurfing (we did it in the same spirit when joining WWOOF and Workaway)

Interests

Our interests:
We love sports (running, cycling, swimming, climbing, soccer, yoga etc) and julia has just started to learn how to dive and surf. We also like cooking and trying dishes or drinks from other countries (Julia loves making quiche and Caipirinha whilst i like to make spicy food washed down with a cold beer!!!). We are always up for a good laugh but have a hard work ethic. We are always 100% committed to the work we do. We love to meet new people, sharing travelling stories, experiencing new cultures and going out from time to time but also enjoy quiet evenings reading or watching movies. We respect others valor and are sensitive to others space and respect boundaries - we believe it is important when being invited to stay at someone’s house.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Julia: recently, I've skydived ( in Brasil) - I loved the feeling in my stomach for few second and think "I'm going to die" but then as soon as I got off the the plane i was falling so fast that I stoped thinking. The feeling of floating on a cushion of air is just amazing!
