About Me

Hi, I'm Julia, a 27-year old History PhD student from Manchester in the UK, but grew up in Germany and Switzerland. I love travelling (who doesn't?), cooking, yoga and living in Manchester because there is so much good music everywhere. Loads of my friends are ridiculously talented musicians (I'm not!), so I spend a lot of my time going to their gigs. I love grimy techno and electronica clubs and coming home as the sun is going up. I have a big pile of books I need to get through, but there is never enough time (it currently contains a book on economic history since the middle ages, the Easter Parade by Richard Yates and a lot of Murakami). I'm really into Korean (horror) films, but also very recently discovered that Die Hard is actually an amazing film, so I'm now exploring all the action movies that I snobbishly dismissed as mindless rubbish. I like spending Sundays basking in the sun in the park with good friends and making big breakfasts for my housemates (pancakes, poached eggs - you name it). In Manchester I have a cat called Bean, she's got a pretty bad temper but I love her.
