About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult

ABOUT ME

I'm an avid traveler with a big list of places yet to go. Right now I'm starting a new career and working as a high school counselor. I love teenagers, probably because I feel like one a lot of the time. I have a good sense of humor and get along with all types of people, even if we have very different backgrounds. Live and let live! I live a very busy life but one that I enjoy, and meeting new people is one of my favorite adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

"Don't ignore your suffering but don't forget to enjoy the wonders of life." Thich Naht Hanh

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, for the moment!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a few travelers in the past with good experiences, but had to deactivate my account since I was so busy with school and my internship. I've never couchsurfed elsewhere but look forward to it!

Interests

Apart from loving my job as a counselor/therapist, I also do massage therapy. For fun I do yoga, surfing (although not as much since I moved from santa cruz), drinking good beers with friends, watching movies/theater/music. Spirituality/meditation helps me stay grounded. I travel when I can. This summer I have only domestic trips: NYC, Atlanta, Santa Fe, Crestone, Portland.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the coolest things happened when I was on a several month-long trip in India. I flew out of Bangalore to Delhi, and before takeoff noticed some of the Dalai Lama's entourage hanging around the gate. As it turns out, he was on the same flight, so I asked his guys if I could go up to first class and offer him a kata (a Tibetan blessing scarf). They said yes! I got to go up and say hi to him as we flew through the air several hundred miles per hour. I was stoked.
