Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've only been able to host a couple of times, but have loved meeting different people in Auckland for a coffee and a catch up.
Now that I'm finally off traveling I'm hoping to use couchsurfing to meet new people and see new things...
Food - growing it, cooking it AND, of course, eating it.
Warm weather, beaches, swimming, lazing.
Reading and thinking and day dreaming and plotting.
I've also recently picked up the guitar again (tried it YEARS ago but was too impatient) and have been teaching myself a few things - hopefully there's some CSers who can teach me more!
Music, Movies, and Books
Books... There are lots I've enjoyed, but the first ones that come to mind:
A Short History of Nearly Everything - Bill Bryson
Anything by Haruki Murakami
One Straw Revolution - Masanobu Fukuoka
The Miracle of Mindfulness - Thich Nhat Hanh
And I've just read my first Ben Elton which had me laughing.
A lot of New Zealand music... Trinity Roots, Black Seeds, Fat Freddys Drop, Katchafire are some.
Quite like a bit of folk kinda stuff like Bob Dylan and Neil Young...(can blame my parents for that!) and anything of the Woodstock era.
Finley Quaye, Ben Harper, The JB's, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Bon Iver, Daft Punk, Feist, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Ray LaMontagne, Donovan, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Fujiya &Miyagi, N.E.R.D., Phoebe Snow, Tiga... And more, but some are secret cause you should know me before you judge me!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked 100km ın 24 hours without sleeping to raise money for Oxfam... that was a couple of years ago now and Im still not quite sure how I did it!
