Overview
About Me
I am pretty easy going and really nerdy. I spend a lot of time reading or studying using OpenCourseWare. The Army is my day job, I fly and maintain CH-47 Chinook helicopters and every once in a while I try to learn to play guitar.
I also make a mean grilled cheese, so you know.... yeah.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Honestly, I just realized I have two 12 hour layovers in Charlotte on my way to and from Puerto Rico, and I can't really afford to stay at a hotel . That being said, I think this is a great opportunity for me to experience couch-surfing. I love to travel and I am planning some major trips next year so hopefully I will have a chance to couch-surf with some of our German and South African friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is very eclectic, but here is a small sampling:
ALT-J
Led Zeppelin
Chopin
Flobots
Books:
Currently I am reading "Chaos" by James Gleick, which is the book responsible for inserting the "butterfly effect" into popular psyche. I read a lot of novels, science related non-fiction, and occasionally philosophy. A few random books and authors that have made a big impression are:
Vonnegut
Nietzsche
Ayn Rand
"Dune"
"Around the world single handed" by Harry Pidgeon
"Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson
"The starfish and the Spider" by Ori Brafman and Rod A Beckstrom
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I found a real hand grenade at the original Planet of the Apes filming location in red rock canyon CA.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a darkroom and a nice camera that comes everywhere, so I will probably send you some "art" prints of your house, neighborhood, etc.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Mexico
