About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel when I can, with my friends, bicycle, banjo, and guitar! I want to play music on a street corner in your town.
ABOUT ME
Bicycles! I ride them anywhere and everywhere. I love impromptu acoustic musical performances and often pull together a group of musicians to play on Philadelphia street corners.
Music is very important, but not in a business sense. I'm not terribly interested in record deals and big gigs. Maybe because none have never come my way! Anyway, I'd like to work normal jobs and keep music as my part-time devotion.
I think honesty is important. I love tea. I've never had a cup of coffee in my life. When I'm in the city I miss the country. Out on the countryside, I miss the city. I don't like to take things too seriously, but value a job well done. I'm also really bad at 'about me' pages.
PHILOSOPHY
"Being likable is more important than being talented" -- Utah Phillips
In my relationships with people, I generally think being happy is more important than being right.
I don't think heaven and hell come after I die. I think it happens in this life. Attitude is everything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Eesh, I'm new to this and haven't participated at all. Though I have hosted lots of people on couches in houses I've lived in, I've never done it through this organization.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Living in Wild West Philly, I have had people stay on my couch so long they actually paid a month's rent. I've slept on couches across America.
Interests
Guitar/banjo playing. Exploring abandoned places. The woods. The key of C. DIY punk shows. Self-supported bicycle touring. Hanging out in parks. Baking with nutella. Cooking. Connecting people. Traveling. Baseball.

Music, Movies, and Books
Not much movie knowledge....
Favorite books are East of Eden, the Monkey Wrench Gang, The Razor's Edge, Portnoy's Complaint. My favorite genre is early 20th century American fiction.
I grew up and always stay true to Punk, but also love blues, folk, bluegrass, metal, classic rock, and some more ambient stuff. Favorites are Against Me!, Tom Waits, the Replacements, Zounds, Mississippi John Hurt, John Fahey, John Prine, Doc Watson, Blind Blake, Phil Ochs, John Prine, From Ashes Rise, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Do Make Say Think, Black Sabbath, Mischief Brew, Bad Religion, Dead Kennedys, Kyuss, Lead Belly....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rode my bike from Bar Harbor, ME to Portland, OR with a few friends. It was great!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn how to make that piercing whistle sound with my fingers. I love teaching people to play simple chords on guitar or banjo. I'm a pretty good fisherman, too. I can teach you to fix a flat on your bike real easy. I'm always looking for tips on songwriting.
